Can anyone tell me the wiring diagram for an Australian delivered 1993 Lancer GSR Engine Control Unit? I just wanna kno what all the wires do/colour code/ position in plug/s. Cheers Guys.

Very Nice Post!

Anyone know what kind of data logger and cable is used in this kind of ECU?

Will MMCd work in pin 42 and pin 43?

I tried getting the voltage/pulse at pin 42, its different from the diagnosis output compared to the 1G ECU. Its a steady 4.5v.

I traced pin 42 and its pin 1 in diagnosis connector port.
Pin 43 is pin 10 at the diagnosis port.

Now my problem is what kind of logger cable and software will work on this ECU?

Anyone?

hey, new to this forum, i cant see the pics of the ecu diagram that has been added!! can anyone help me!! i need this diagram ASAP!!

thanks
Ben

 Blast from the past with a 2007 thread Ben lol :w00t:
New members should really check the tech sticky's sections out before posting because this 2007 thread above wouldnt have had an updated and confirmed version of the pinouts in it for you and any changes or discussions thereafter. The Tech sticky thread is here: http://4gtuner.com/site/showthread.php?t=7453

About 95% of it is, yes. I dont think anyone has ever posted a dedicated GSR diagram.
The GSR pinout differs slightly for the radiator thermo fans and temperature sensor in the radiator (evo's dont have a sensor in the radiator so wont be listed above). I cant remember what the exact difference was but it was easy to figure out.
GSR's didnt come with an exhaust temp sensor on the cat converter so you can ignore those pinouts on the EVO diagram.
When I first did my 4G63T conversion I had a GSR ECU and loom running a VR4 Cyclone engine (with 450cc injectors and GSR AFM) to get the car around on and off the car float. It's 95% the same pinouts as the EVO/VR4 4G63T bar those couple of differences from memory.

Would there be differences due to the Evo III's digital climate control vs the plain manual air/con / heating setup on the GSR?

I know I'm having a nightmare trying to sort my GSR's air-con out.

I'm 99% sure mine's a JDM that originally had the Evo III style climate control.
Unfortunately at some point they've removed it and spliced in (very badly) the manual setup.

I've got cut wires all over the place!!

I've got it to the stage where I have air-con now, but at idle the engine revs drop to the point where it often stalls when the air-con's running :fuuuuu:

I still dont know for the life of me why people go through the hassle of removing the climate control wiring from a perfrectly good JDM GSR/ EVO interior loom, then put it aside for a later time to splice into their existing loom and create a real mess... its rediculous. Ive done it once before for a guy's car and never again. Every other time since has been complete loom swapovers. There's a few parts you need for the full climate control setup and most guys havent got a clue about them and start pulling the car apart without knowing what's in stall :(

Its much easier to get a JDM GSR or EVO interior loom and install that instead (GSR model with climate control of course). BUT, not before you have the rest of the parts for the job. The more your wiring stays factory and un-spliced the less problems that will occur and the easier it will be to fault find electrical problems if they occur in future.

If you have got a JDM GSR I reckon put up a WTB thread for another JDM GSR interior loom and get one of them to replace what you have now. If you dont have a JDM GSR grab a loom first, then shop for the headunit, motors, and centre fan box. The climate control also uses a sensor up underneath the dashboard near the demister which people seem to forget when doing the climate control conversion. You dont really need the outside air temp sensor as its a bit of a wank factor, though you can always buy the sensor and resistor that bolts to the radiator support panel and install it later using your own custom wiring if you dont have an EVO or JDM GSR engine loom.

In your current situation its great to hear that you've done the hard yards and got the aircon running at the moment :) Sadly as explained earlier, you're left in a situation to do some fault finding and going through the loom again :(
