EGR BLOCK OFF PLATE. ANYONE MAKE THEM IN OZ?

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

Sits on the runner of the manifold between the tb - head. Diamond shape flange. 2 bolts.

It allows unburnt exhaust gasses to re circulate back into the intake stream and re burn.

Blocking it off means no dirty exhaust gas taking up valuable fresh air space in your intake.

I kind of figured as much =P More meant is there any real world benefit to removing it. I'm guessing there's a port specially in the head for it or something. Also, what Jazz9 said. Don't know if it would really make all that much difference to tuning, but still interesting. If it malfunctions, is there a chance that it could create a boost/intake leak or cause knock due to the hot/burnt gasses?

If you pulled your manifold out and looked inside, you would see all the black carbon build up so it will affect it in that manner (cleanliness).
It is simply and emission thing in AUS and USA. JAPS do not have it.
WOT, probably not much/ if any difference at all imo.

Only other benifit is you wouldn't be heating up your intake manifold if you blocked it (I blocked mine in the head itself).

I have been looking up abit about egr and it seems that it is a good thing.

The exhaust gas that is recired doesn't burn and part fills the cyl not allowing fresh air and therefore reduces the amount of fuel used. Somewhere around 10-20% reduce fuel usage.Only on cruise is it in use.

This is only what I have read - no real world experience ( except blocking it :p )
