ive tried opening up my door trims and unplugging and replugging the plugs, doesnt do anything, anyone got any ideas??

thanks peter

Your motor may have died... Happened to me in the commodore.. It would work sometimes... Then get stuck either open or closed... Then 1 day just stopped... Had to buy a new motor ... Works a charm now ...

I have the exact some problem with my car last week, sounds like your Regulator is the problem on the motor, I take it that your motor still works but the glass doesn't go up?

Could also simply be the power window switch. Little clip breaks on the drivers one....common problem. Could be this, pull apart the control box and replace it with one of the others to test it.

Had this problem a few times on my Evo

First time the rubber drive was stuffed on the regulator where it attaches to the motor.

Second time the motor had gotten water in to, so had to be replaced.

You should be able to hear the motor if its still working, if it is - then regulator is probably the problem.

If the motors not working you can test it by plugging into one of the other working door switches to check if its the switch thats stuffed.

well my problem wasnt the motor, i opened it up and the teeth that moves the motor was broken, i fixed it with some super glue - you need to get the strongest super glue and let it set properly or it will just keep falling off, like i learnt...

i fixed that problem, but the second time i opened up the thing, i didnt open it properly and the window lock button, well inside it one of the springs unsprung, and i dont know where to put it back, its one of the small ones... so now i have to buy a new module for 75 of cvap, unless someone knows how to fix this..

The first part, i would have used Epoxy or got a new gear if possible.

Second part, unsure of, but dont loose that spring, im sure its possible to repair but just takes time & patients. I say, if your going to buy a new one, then i guess you might as well try to fix it, but i would take a photo of the inside if needed so you can remember where parts go and make sure your desk is clean with good lighting so you can see :)

Thirdly, usually the problem is not the motor, but the window regulators are usually the cause of windows falling down/making a big thump noise when wound up. The cable gets frayed/jammed/stuck.

i forgot i had this post up,

well what i did was, i got an electric window module from a cresida my parents used to have, and my dad had it lying around, and i used the spring mechanism of the window lock on that and put it over to the gsr as they are relatively the same..

now my windows work fine, they all go up and down, lock unlock what ever.. just that one of the windows.. the buttons are opposite.. as in press up go down press down go up, but i guess i can live with that if i saved myself 75 bucks

thanks for input anyways guys..

Peter

I got my window fixed on my EVO III, I got a new motor & Reg from a GSR and it fitted up nicley, the ONLY differance was the elect clip in the wiring loom (Big deal)
So who ever told me that the EVO and the GSR are not the same.... THEY are.
