Electrical Issues

Hey guys,

Ran a power cable through the car following the stock route (through the guard, behind the fuse box)... In doing so, had to disconnect the fuse box and move it out of the way for a bit. Also moved the alarm, because it was in the way too... But now i've got no blinkers and no dash board lights! (and no reverse lights, but I dunno if that was before or after this happened)

Also; on the dash, both blinkers light up, but don't flash - and they stay on.

Also trying to wire in a new head unit, and can't find a constant 12v, only accessories - might also be related.

Anyways; messing with the alarm, I think the alarm might have something to do with it? Seems like it's connections arent great, and it doesnt look like it's been wired in very well.

Or could a faulty flasher relay cause all this? After screwing around with it some more, the blinkers will come on but won't flash.

Anybody with anything similar happen, or ideas as to what the hell is wrong with it? There's also one black plug that seems to go nowhere... will put a pic of it up maybe if that'd help.

ok... so key to ignition, and left indicator light comes on (on the dash only, not external), but doesnt flash. key 1 more click to on, and both indicator lights come on (on the dash only), but don't flash.

Ideas? what the freaking hell is wrong with this thing? :blink: :angry:

you missed a connection to the interior loom to the exterior loom on the interior fuse box..... usually the plugs on the back...... have fun finding it

Pretty sure the fuse box is 100% hooked up. Will take a photo of the back of it later... I HOPE it's that simple...

Ok... i just pulled the plugs off the fuse box again and put them back on again. there was nothing missing...

Also took the car around the block; when the handbrake is up, the tacho drops to 0, when it's down, think it isn't reading right, it's showing lower revs than it's doing.

i farking hate electrical issues...

this is the one plug that i cannot find a location for, but it doesnt seem to be the fuse box... if that's the problem and somebody can tell me where to put it??? I FREAKING HOPE IT'S THAT SIMPLE!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe it's this little button that I dunno wtf it's for??? (I know it isn't... but what a freaking mess of a job has been done to this :angry: )

that big bundle of black wires looks like an immobiliser mess.
bloody sparkies, they arent real people, but they sure got a lot to answer for

yeah, it is. Gonna get another alarm put in next week after I fix up this problem. The button is a bit random to me though.

Problem fixed!!!!!!!!!!!!

For future reference; if anybody else does something this stupid... ONE plug on the fuse box is the same on the front as on the back... guess what happens when you mix them up... oh well! FIXED!!!!!!
