hey guys,

plannin on purchasing some gauges for my car, im after electronic ones with stepper motors.

had my eye keen on the DeFi din set (oil temp, water temp, boost), they fit where head units usually go on.

can anyone recommend a good set of gauges? from experience i guess.

not really a big fan of autometer :)

ive had a couple in my car

the first one i had was an apexi electronic one with blue backlight. that was my favourite gauge in terms of functionality. Never missed a beat. had peak hold so i knew the highest boost i hit. only thing i didnt like was it used BAR pressure rather than PSI... just a personal preferenced really
i got my car back from a mechanic one day and it was no longer working  but i couldnt really prove much.. so i just got rid of it.

then i chucked in a blitz mechanical - worked fine, no problems at all.. no special functions or anything though. only got rid of it because i put in an eboost

never used defi though so i cant compare.. but my pick is apexi :)

yeah i dont mind the apexi, looks nice!

how much did you pay for it and how hard was it to install?

I just got a prosport premium oil pressure gauge.. the "opening ceremony" is pretty annoying but for half the price of a brand name gauge, it's pretty good. Plus it reads up to 150 psi. It'll do until I can afford gauges that look right :p If you're willing to fork out for the DIN gauges.. do it! They look pretty nice IMO, and convenient too. Dunno about readability in our cars, but I believe they tilt toward the driver (ie if you get them from US ebay they will point toward your passenger)

yeah, i like the fact that its in a spot where "defectability" isnt so high heheh. and it makes it look neat also, i was worried about being able to see it or not but i was thinkin of placing the head unit in the lower spot and the DIN where the unit used to be, just to aid visibility.

the apexi came with my car when i bought it, so im unsure sorry

I'm in the same boat, I wanna run three DEFI gauges as well but not sure where to put them.

Where can you get the triple DIN's angled to face the driver from these days? I remember seeing them ages ago but cant find them now  They look like this and I could only find one on EBay overseas:

Also I'd much prefer them to be padded and on the A-pillar that way you can use a larger gauge however it sucks that the Police would defect you for them there

MEEK sells the triple gauge holders which put them in the spot under the radio. I've made up a carbon fibre plate which will hold three gauges in the spot where the radio used to sit.

... and then there's the other problem of where to put the bloody DefiLink Control Unit to run one of these DefiLink displays?
