Hi guys, just been trying to find out whether this is a genuine turbo vr4 engine iv been looking at, the number is 4G 63 , GE 4675, iv been looking all over the net but cant find anything relating to engine numbers, thanks for any help cheers.

The actual engine number wont really tell you if its a VR4 motor or not.

You generally tell by the bits attached to the engine, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, throttle body, CAS etc.

Post some pictures.

Looks like a VR4 motor, that flywheel is from a VR4, its deffinatly a 6 Bolt which is a VR4 (EVO's are 7 Bolts). Intake looks VR4 because it has Cyclone/Turbo/Intercooler. If deffinatly a 2.0L block with the 4G63 engine number.

Rocker cover is wrong, AFAIK all VR4's were red, NA's/4G61T's and EVO's are that colour, but they are easily swapped.

Cant see the oil filter housing, looks like its been removed, VR4's have Oil/Air or Oil/Water coolers.

GE series are 6 bolt bottom ends, jap spec.

I've had 3 of them so far.

Silver rocker covers are simply a series adjustment from the factory, they were prevalent between mid 88 and the start of '90. No aspec or usdm vr4 will have it however. I have 6 silver rocker covers.

Early 63's break rocker covers all the time, so don't be suprised if that's not the original one, the colour is irrelevant really.

Correct.

Well if the squirters themselves aren't there it means the block got pulled down, but it should have the holes predrilled for them and such.

Even if the holes aren't there, the NA blocks have the locations marked and it's minor job to drill them in, biggest issue is finding a set really.
