Hey all
since buying a GSR I've had nothing but headaches as chronicled in my intro thread...

in short.. was told it had alot of work done(bolt ons as well as lumpy cams)
and that it was tuned to run 20psi (guy told me 16psi max on stock computer etc but since its running haltech it could run 20 as it had more fuel etc (bigger injectors and fuel pump also)

Since putting a rod thru the block due to over boosting to 26psi
I am now in the process of removing the old motor and putting in a replacment long motor and putting all the accessories on the long motor..

This is proving tedious as alot of the bolts used are A)wrong B)not in properly or C)seized up etc

its doing my head in and would be keen to have a few members over for a bbq and pull apart day as I think some member knowledge will go a long way!
If people want to specify a date to come see me or to organise with a few folk to come over for a BBQ and pull apart that would be great.

Thanks all

i think i'm going to be flat out with work and getting mine ready for the cruise in december, but set down a date and i'll see whats happening, if i'm free i'll come help out

347-dis and I have been plugging away at it this weekend along with some of my mates(who know falcons not jap cars so makes it hard to know what to do)

so far the whole front side of the motor is bare except the power steering pump(best way to get that off?? just pull the bracket or pull the hoses?)

Next up its how to remove all the bits on the back of the motor ie gearbox and transfer case and CVs

IF anybody has a quick guide for how to rip motor and box out the easy way id be VERY grateful

I will work out a day and see who makes it
cheers

Unbolt the pump from the bracket and the bracket from the block and just swing it out of the way. Leave the hoses attached.

This is for a vr4, but most things (especially the procedure) will be similar.
