Oh really!? I didn't know that. Thank VR-4Squid. Which one is that exactly? :)

GSRONP - most people use a datalogger which tells them the fault straight up, but you can also check the fault code using a 12V (actually it might be 5V I can't remember) LED test light or DVM with bargraph etc.
When the CEL is on, the ECU sends out long and short 12V pulses, sorta like morse code. haha
There's a table on the internet somewhere (LOL!! :p) that decodes these for you to tell you whats up. Sorry I can't find it atm.

and if all else fails find someone witha diagnostic scanner is u can find a list of fault codes and use the data logger too get the code out then refer too the list of codes and then thats your code

scanner can be alot quicker because you plug in and it tells you whats up
