Evo 1-3 Sunroof

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

I have this Webasto unit, the top is blacked out. Bought it from forbidden motorsport a few years back with a plan to install it in a GVR4, but I never got around to it.
It was in their FWD CC coupe. I think I paid 500-550 for it. I'll let it go for $400 + postage if you want it.
It has all the switches and motor etc required to run it and a cardboard template that Mick drew up. It's in great condition.

Guys im looking for a sunroof in good working order please..

I had a complete setup for sale for ages for like $100....ended up I couldnt give it away so I threw it out at the tip.
Take it from me..they are more trouble than they are worth. My Evo had one...it was the first thing to go when I replaced the roof skin.

Also...keep in mind you will need the roof trim to match as well as the switches and roof light combo....as well as having to relocate the rails/ribs in the roof of your GSR to fit it.

Jamo my cars going thru a full make over so not really fussy about the roof lining but just want a sunroof thats flush with the roof none of these ones that stick out..

I'm pretty sure this one sticks out a little bit mate.
My experience has been similar to Jamo. The flush mounted ones collect water and rust the surrounding area. Got my S13 repaired and it bubbled back up within months.
Good luck though.

I too was thinking of a sunroof 'upgrade' when I did the rebuild/respray.

the amount of extra work, items, etc is really hard to justify imo. and the weight too!

2 points-
1/ it's not a finely tuned/ weighted/ balanced 10th of a second hunting racer, so the extra weight won't matter
2/ the adhesive they used is where the problem was, knowing it use to be a problem just means you can take the pre-emptive steps in preventing it happening again

Plus I imagine it'll be garaged, used as a weekend car and be well maintained,
Mate if the car is cared for, ya won't have issues, my 94 GSR roof had the original skin, was garaged its whole life and it didn't even have the signs of wanting to rust,

That's a good point mate..
