So i did a stupid thing: was replacing the oil filter housing yesterday and the guide I looked at said remove centre crank pulley bolt. So i did and pulled the pulley off, along with the lower timing gear. Now i know the engine is an interference one so what is the best thing for me to do to get it all back together without smashing valves?
I havent turned the motor (obviously) so was going to pull the tensioner, put the gear back on and make sure i have the belt tight as per fitting a belt normally. Refit the tensioner (compress/pull the pin) and hope like hell that its all good. Will turn to TDC, check cam timing etc and go from there.
Is there any tolerance with timing? AS in 1/2 teeth out will i be ok??
