Help Support 4GTuner:

I seem to remember that one of the Magna hubs will do the trick but I just cant figure out which one at the moment...

it would also have to be a awd magna

I dont think the Magna was AWD as I looked at getting mine done a while back because the wheel choice for 5 stud is way better than 4 stud. It was gonna cost $80 each hub to convert (I have EVO twin pot fronts and EVO rear discs). I'll ask a mate to see if he remembers and I'll get back to you (memory goes when you get older  ).

OK, after some cutting and pasting you can see in the pic below all the Mitsu's that have the identical front rotor dimensions and mix of 4 & 5 stud (look for 276-45-24-22.4-69-then 4 or 5 stud):

We know the 276mm is the same on the VR4 and EVO 1-3 and then should be the same as the models described above although I cant confirm 100% as you may also need the bearing to go with it (see blue circles).

If you own a GSR and upgrade your brake calipers to EVO/VR4 you could do the same  As for the rears on a GSR/EVO it's a different story and you will have to get them redrilled to 5 stud. [edit] The FTO's have the same dimensions in a 5 stud but they arent AWD and cant be used (see red circles)

If you want to check out the rears on the VR4's etc, save this file and check it out to see what else may correspond to your car: http://www.dba.com.au/DBAcat_012005.pdf

what taco said, you can probably do the fronts, but what about the rears?!?!
u need splines in the hub for the driveshafts..

fto's / magna's etc are all fwd.......
5 stud front? 4 stud rear? lol

or u can drill out your rear hubs to a 5 stud pattern

or use rear adapter plates.

Apologies, thats a big 'DER' on my part about the FTO rears  Sometimes I confuse my own sh!t up between AWD and FWD cars  The AWD FTO was only in Gran Turismo not real life wasnt it  Redrill the rears to 5 stud - too easy

So in order to convert from 4 stud to 5 stud;
Fronts: use magna hubs no other issues with the struts lining up or ball joints etc. Could you then just use AWD magna hubs to get 294mm discs?

Rears: can you just redrill the hubs to 5 x 114.3 and fit new studs and discs?

redrilling isn't as easy as it seems..
u'd need it to be spot on, so an engineer would have to do it..
they'd have to make up tooling for it also,

u could go DSM T/E/L 5 stud hubs...
shipped from USA

Taken from v6lancer.com (I hope he doesn't mind me quoting him)

The front hubs are from a 1G Mitsubishi Eclips from the States (Magna TS hubs can also be used, DOH). The rear uses later model Magna hubs because the bearings in the rear of an EVO are wider than the fronts, there for if you use a hub from the front and press it into the rear bearing, I would have been left with a 6mm gap. So I sused out the later model hubs which suit a wider bearing , closer to the GSR/EVO rear bearings. The only problem with this is that the later Magna's run a 27 spline CV joint, and the lancer runs a 25 spline joint and the drive shaft its self is 22 spline, SO, I now needed to find a CV joint witha 27 spline outer, that would accept a 22 spline shaft, as it turnes out a outer CV joint for a Subaru Liberty will fit with some minor mechiening.

Yeah Mikey (V6 Lancer above) said TS Magna up front is fine and to get the rears redrilled to 5 stud.
