evo 8 BOV?

Hi guys i have noticed that in most of the posts i read about evo 7 and other models alot of people use the evo 8 bov. I was just curious about what the benefits are?

Being metal it can hold more boost than the standard plastic types.
And at the same time allowing you to retain a recirculating plumback BOV.

ah that makes sense so what would be better? the evo8 bov or a hks bov?

Just to clarify,

EVO 8 = Plastic
EVO 8 MR = Metal.


I ran the the MR BOV on the VR4 with 22PSI and never had leak issues.

Also Evo 9MR's and Evo X's use came out with the metal BOV's.
I've ran 25psi with no leaks with the Evo 8MR BOV.

Has nothing to do with the metal casing, it's ability to hold boost pressure is due to the higher spring tension. That being said my VIII GSR plastic BOV doesn't leak at 24psi either.

It's no different to buying a Turbosmart BOV if plumbback is your thing. It just has no adjustment over some of the other BOV's, Yes some leak but even with an adjustable all you need is to tighten it right up and it's exactly the same
The 8MR BOV is stock looking so some people prefer it.
