Hi guys,

I spotted a complete set of evo 9 mr brembo brakes calipers with lines, and rotors, i'm thinking of snapping them up! Would there be any issue to fit them? does it need custom adapters to mount the calipers, or mods the hubs or anything else i need to know before going ahead buying them?

Wae

Not going to be easy to locate a pair of front verada hubs and getting the correct adapters for the callipers. I'm wondering what is the current market price for the set of Evo 9 calipers + rotors front and back?

How about the rear, would it just bolt straight on? Is there any concern about the rotors fitments, pcd etc?

Some useful info:

My hubs were $100 for a pair. I forgot to mention an Evo 6 brake master is needed so the brake pedal isn't spongy.
Cheers !

Hi Rockabilly, I'm worry buying the complete set and ended up getting the back installed

Any idea where can i buy a pre made adapter? if there's none, how much will cost to get a custom calliper adapter made up?

From reading other forum it seems the rear brembo is direct bolt on, does it uses the evo 9 oem calliper adapter or uses back the rvr calliper adapters to fit those rear brembo?

Hi Wae,
The Verada is 160mm between the bolt holes & suits Brembos. The ABS needs modding.
RVR rear has a drum brake handbrake the same as an Evo. I was told the rear goes straight on.
I haven't fitted my brakes. Million other things to do & my brakes are ok with my std boost atm etc
Will have to later to pull it up. And I will be fitting an Evo 6 master cylinder.
I'm a late breaker, so I'll be adding a vacume storage tank like the old GT Falcons used.
When I'm WOT & then need to break hard, my 264/272 cams have robbed me of vacume.
Cheers !

Damn so much things needed to be done, custom 4 x caliper brackets, 2 front verada hubs, maybe need evo 9 boost and master aswell. For the tie rods needs to be cut shorter uh? Whats need to be done to the abs? Arghhh soo tempted to snap up the set of brembo =='

The Verada steering arm hole for the tie rod is 5mm higher at the bottom & the tapered hole faces ^ up, so the RVR tie rod
will be turned upside down. With a lowered RVR, the rack arms will sit ok. With a std height RVR, the rack arms would be
heading down towards the wheel. You don't need to make any brackets for the calipers at all. The ABS mod from memory will
need a bit of lathe cutting towards the bearing to fit the doo-dad inside. The reader doo-dad needs relocating to line up.
I think we can just weld a nut on the side of the hub to line the reader up. A bit of a prick of a job, but no biggy..
Cheers !

umm thats strange? My rvr has disc brakes at the rear. Not drum. Could it be hsg has disc brakes at the rear abd ssg has the drums at the rear?

Do i need the evo 9 oem calipers adapter/brackets to fit into front and rear of the rvr? or use back the rvr stock caliper adapters.

no he doesnt mean the rear has drums, he means it had a drum style handbrake..which means the handbrake works off a drumbrake style setup seperate to the discs ;)

Oh and rears bolt on ;)

oh i see abt the drum style hand brake. How did your brembo installation goes QIK-247? have you got those front and rear brembo on your hsg?

I need to start gathering the correct parts and get things sort out at one go... im going to be doing all this brembo conversion by myself

So far,
-evo 9 brembos and rotors
-2 x front verada hubs
-what else!

Can some one tell me do i need the evo 9 oem calipers adapter/brackets to fit the brembos into front and rear of the rvr? or use back the rvr stock caliper adapters? and would the Evo 9 or Evo 10 brake master cylinder and boot bolt straight onto the rvr?

Hi guys,

It has been a while getting back to the forum. So far I've received my evo 9 brembo callipers and brake/boost master cylinder, and the rotors shipment were missing during shipment. Anyway i did a go ahead tried fit on the rear brembo this morning and see what other parts that i may need;

I unbolted the oem rear callipers. The rear brembo callipers mounting holes does match up, but the brembo calliper wont fit into the rotor as it blocking. Any idea what rotor sizes i need to get it change over?

For the front, I bought a front pair of magna front knuckle and hubs i think is 25/27 spline. I though it will goes well along with the front brembos. Had the front wheels off, did a few measurements, to my surprise the knuckles are identical to my rvr!!! The front brembo callipers won't be able to fit into the mounting holes as its the same as the rvr.

I want to get to the bottom of it. I know theres been on going talks about fitting brembos into rvr. Some are fitting brembos off evo 6, and I'm fitting the brembo off the evo 9.

Are the brembo callipers from evo 6 and evo 9 are the same? Are the mounting holes apart are the same? How about the rotors sizes from evo 6 and 9? And some said you need magna tr front knuckles to get the job completed and rear will just bold on itself? etc... I'm getting a run around here  need help please!

Wae.

Unfortunately the rear rotors are from a r33 skyline, I was test fitting it, the diameter is a few mm smaller so I definitely need the correct size rotors.
