Hi guys, I know that the port sise on these are smaller. But would there be any great losses or gains in putting one on a Vr4, as I have across one for a very good price and snapped it up.

there is ways around it, a few people have made up blanking plates that fit in between the manifold and head but it doesnt change the fact that the manifold is designed for the evo's head and wont be any gains by using it on a vr4 head, the port matching between the two will most likely be a hinderance

The EVO intake is designed for the EVO head to direct airflow in a specific direction into the ports at a high velocity. The VR4 intake ports are a lot bigger and on their own are designed for outright high cfm flow. So to direct air into the head at velocity the VR4 had the Cyclone intake manifold with the 8 runners :) There's been huge debate over what is better but when it comes down to it they are both good and will give you plenty of power than you'll ever need. In your case I would go the non turbo VR4 intake manifold as they offer better top end than the Cyclone manifold and people have run 10's with them and stock throttle bodies. Remember, just because something is "EVO" doesnt magically make it faster :p

i've got a nice ported and ceramic coated intake manifold for sale
with the XF tb.. nice and big...
