Hi guys. Tonight I hooked up the EVO washer bottle with both motors... one single motor for the front intercooler sprayer, and the twin motor for the front and rear windscreen wipers. As I'm running all EVO III looms in the car all the buttons work as per factory.

BUT something that has got me buggered  When I put water in the washer bottle, water runs out of the hose for the intercooler sprayer. So I swapped to another motor and it does the same thing. Even with a sprayer on it still runs water out from it.

In an EVO, does the intercooler sprayer hose route in such a way that it is above the horizontal of the washer bottle at some point?

cheers guys

there should be a little one way valve in the line rob to stop the water leaking out. ill have to check to see where mine is but i think its behind the front bar from the factory, closer to the actuall nozzle

Ahh... probably a little pressure valve or something is it? is closed when no pressure but opens with just the slightest of pressure from the washer motor?

It is the blue connector and is just behind the front bar on the passenger side.

Do you have your intercooler spray nozzle connected yet?

Yeah thats what you need, can get em for like a few bucks at autoparts stores if you cant locate a factory one in your mountain or parts! some cars have em fitted to the washer jets as well.

Can someone post a pic of what one looks like please? Im gonna have to use the ol' screw in the rubber hose trick until I get one lol

i dont have my car here rob but it just looks like a joiner and as hypo said its blue, i looked at my car earlier and it was still there.

its not really any larger than the actual hose either

ah OK... thanks George. So normal places like Autopro, Repco, Bursons etc would have these types of things you think?

Its OK mate, I might ring around tomorrow and see what I can find too. Alternatively might have to go look at a local wreckers for one.

yeh call around, it would be the exact same thing u will find in the lines for your window washers so shouldnt be hard to come by, on a similliar note, assuming yours is set up the same as my genuine gear, does anyone else find it annoying that the cooler spray only uses water from the top quarter of the water tank? as in once the tank is 3/4 full the cooler sprays cant draw any water from it.

Remove the rubber internal hose from the motor and cut the the snorkel off (leaving the grommet still in place) and it'll sort that problem out. OR, just use a rubber grommet from a stock washer motor. Then you can draw water from where the motor enters the washer bottle :)

Heres the standard evo III one.

Legend!! thanks mate :)
The pressure required to overcome that small spring that holds the steel ball check valve must only be minor...the pump is only small.

Have you found anything to use?

Its called a check valve. Just ask for a check valve that sits in the washer jet line. I have 2 here....in Adelaide lol.
