Guys i want to use the oil cooler from the evo but i need to know if
the part that is between the oil filter and and the block,(where the hoses
are attached) is part of the block or is it removable ?
and will it fit on a gsr.

Thanks grant.

the part on an evo motor that the oil cooler lines attatch too is part of the front timing cover/oil pump housing.

you cant just remove it and bolt it to another type of engine.

you would probably be abe to use a sandwich plate to pick up oil from the motor and the use the evo oil cooler.

is your car a lancer or galant gsr?

Thanks guys, i thought that it wasn't going to be that easy
i'll go up to just jap and check out there relocation kit to see
if i can use that, or maybe look at a trust kit as my next option.

Thanks Grant.

You can one in unison with an oil filter relocation kit ;)

The J-spec VR4 blocks have the outlets for an external oil cooler on the mounting plate for the oil filter don't they?

I want to run an external EVO oil cooler on mine but don't want to muck around with a sandwich plate or filter relocation kit, would prefer to use the stock points if possible.

Jspec VR4 engines have them but it still won't fit if you have a 4g93.
That is unless you have done the 4g63 transplant, then it will

Cool! I've checked under the car and there's three grommet plugs in the filter mounting plate - two are on the forward face of the plate and one is further back.

Does it matter which one is the inlet or outlet for an oil cooler?
