evo radiator

i replaced my radiator less than a fortnight ago, due to the top hose barb (the one that connects the hose to the water pump) snapping off.. only to have it snap again. has anyone had problems with extremely brittle radiator top tanks? or is it just me?
i pulled out the broken piece of top tank and its extremely soft and brittle.. crumbled into pieces.

have you been experiancing any overheating problems prior to this happening,i wouldnt exactly call it a common problem,ive never come accross it before

ive seen/heard of the small one that geos to the overflow bottle breaking before, but not the main one. seems a little strange for it to do it twice..

also was the radiator replaced with a second hand one or a new1?

Ive had the same happen to me rafdiator is jspec and yes Ive had two overheating inceidents which wouldnt help at all
saving now for a new top tank to go on.
after time and a few overheating events they do become brittle.

2nd hand, but it was in fairly good condition.
hasn't overheated whatsoever.. sits on about 80-85?c.. the overheating occurs after the hose pops off and i run out of coolant :?
however, both breakages happened at high revs.. could be a pressure problem?
