Driver Dynamics are doing Open Track high speed driving sessions at Sandown on Friday nights now :D

I'm booked in for this Friday (24th) and seeing how I go this week may try and get in another one in a fortnight or so.

Cost is $150 for 3hrs of driving.

Let's try and book a T4G night so we can get our toys out on the track and have some real adrenalin fuelled fun where we don't risk losing our licenses, killing innocent bystanders or having our cars impounded.

What are your thoughts?

Driving starts at 5.30pm and goes to 8.30pm. On the last couple of driving days I did with them, friends and family could wander in and watch and didn't have to pay.

Sounds ok where is there more details?

Like you say 3hrs driving but surely your not on the track that whole time?
Is there scruitineering?
Is there any proffesionals there to give advice etc?
Do they time your laps and give print outs so you can see how you went and how you have improved?

www.driverdynamics.com.au

They break you up into groups and give you about 15min on the track before you go off and the next group goes on.

They have safety marshals etc and professional drivers who can ride with you and give you pointers, but there's no timing or "competitive" driving allowed. It's more of an opportunity to get your car out on the track at some high speeds rather than trying to compete with everybody out there.

You guys missed a good night! A great turnout of various makes and models, even had the 1984 Bathurst winning Jaguar there.

Had a successful driving session (ie I could drive the car home afterwards :p) and got some great advice on how to improve my driving and skills for more consistent laps.

C'mon! Let's get some more T4G representation out there and make use of what our cars are capable of in a safe and controlled environment.

I was keen to come and watch but ended up working late then was taken out for dinner by a sexual blonde.

Normally I'd say "What kind of excuse is that!?" but I guess if she was a "sexual" blonde we can forgive you Dre :D

Seriously but guys - it's an awesome track to get out and have some fun on. Esp when it gets dark and they turn the sprinklers on at turn 4....

Didnt this win it in 84 :p

Sounds like great fun and the best way to start into it with instructors.

Beats me mate! They just told us that it was the winning car from '84 Bathurst. I wouldn't know if they were telling us Porky Pies or not.

George - It's wound off the 180kph speedo pretty much from about halfway down each straight and still accelerating so at a guess I'd say I was nudging somewhere from 190-200kph.
