Front lower control arms

Guys is there a washer that fits between the bush (on the rear of the arm) and the end of the lower control arm (gsr lancer) ?

doesnt the clamp just squash the bush against the body holdoing the arm in place?

It dose, but i need to know if there is a washer between the bush and the end of the arm.
The reason is, i had a wheel alignment done the other day and the guy who did it said, that whoever put the bushes in originally had put them in ass about and he allso though that there was a washer that went in between the two.
So i'm thinking that the nuckelhead who originally put them in also forgot to put the washers back in.
So i need to know is there a washer in there :?:

I'm not quite sure what you mean but here is a pic I just took of under my car, I think it is of where you are refering to and as far as I can see there is no washers....

No washers with these arms.

Richard those bushes are some of the early superpro lower control arm rear.
They dont look as though they are in good shape at least they could do with some new grease.

the washer stops the arm from pushing on to or through the bush,
i had a look on a guys evo 2 at the track on sunday and they were
there :?
maybe they only come on evo's and not gsr lancers,
anyone with evo 1-2-3 care to take a look :?:

evo 2 and 3 have a totally different arm setup mate
so refering to them for your car wont help you

Ive never seen a gsr with washer on the area your refering to but the black rubber ones(oem type) in the pic above are what your after or replace with some after market polyurethane bushes.

Also they are ment to be greased up Rubber or poly friendly, so it it keeps the bush from drying out and also prevents those nasty squeeks running a dry bush.

Heres a few pics of GSR and Evo I and II/III control arms to clear some things up.

Evo I (left) vs GSR (right)

and the rear bushing up close.

As you can see the rear bushing on the Evo I arm is a enclosed instead of a big squidgy rubber (or poly for aftermarket ones) block.

The Evo I arms are a bit of an upgrade for GSRs as the enclosed bushing doesn't shift as much as the rubber/poly block under hard braking. GSR ones can shift up to 10mm which is quite an unnerving feel through the brake pedal sometimes and can be quite a noticealbe clunk. I'd run Evo I arms over using a poly bush equipped GSR armm any day.

Finally here we have a CE9A Evo II/III lower arm.

Note that it has the same enclosed bush as the Evo I arm but doesn't have provisions to mount the swaybar links to as they mount to the strut in CE9A Evos. For this reason you can't use these arms in a CD9A or CD5A unless you also use the swaybar, links and struts from/for a CE9A, be it standard or aftermarket.

Here's a pic to explain what he just said ^^^^ The swaybar bolts onto the strut via a swaybar link on an EVO 2/3, instead of the swaybar bolting onto the lower control arm like on an EVO 1/GSR.

was that a Pedders one as I rang them today and they said there is a oem replacement one or a adjustable cut to length one, they had them in stock but didn't have time to go and take a look at both to see what the adjustable one was like.
