Billet VCE, not a welded one.. was made by PPG gearboxes.

Its a Viscious Coupling Eliminator (VCE) you put this in place of your old one. It goes inside the first casing of the gearbox, pretty easy to install while the box is in the car! It basically changes the split to a 50/50 power instead of the factory 60/40. Good for drag racing and "racing" purposes. Not sure how it would go on a street car but im sure somoene has run one in their car.

oh yer.. and if you want you can remove your front drive shafts and put stub shafts in the box and run your car RWD... if you drop the transfer case you can run FWD.. good for dyno tuning too if they dont have a 4WD dyno.

Thats an awesome price considering Horepowerinabox sells the PPG Mitsubishi EVO 1-2-3 RWD Conversion Coupling for $434.50

Says RWD coupling but im sure it does the same job... im now wondering if my switchable box does the same thing when i switch it to FWD lol i thought it was to eliminate the stub shaft

Curiosity has got the better of me here... do they make those for the GSR box as well? Could be a bit of fun!!!

With this you can run either FWD or RWD.
You just have to remove whatever shafts you don't want to use and block them up to stop fluid leaking.

CVAP make these also.

$155 is cheap!

Hey Baz... with our switchable box's, if we swith the box to FWD but not switch the transfer box.. does that do the same thing 50/50

I believe the FWD / AWD box, when switched, locks the centre diff, then the xfer case switch disconnects the drive to the rear wheels making it FWD.

So if you only switch the box, you'll probably lock the centre diff.
If you only switch the xfer, you will dissconnect the tail shaft.

I'm not 100% sure that is how the switchable box works, but in theory, it sounds like how it would be done.
