Ok tried to start my car today pump doesn't prime ....so I pulled the fuel line off the fuel rail tried it again ..no fuel came out so I'm guessing the pump has just died from sitting around ...it's a Bosch 040 is there any other ways to check it without pulling out the pump

Fuck no lol....checked the fuse in the engine bay the 20a I think it is but where else do I check?

Yeah, check if the wires to the fuel pump under the back seat are getting power to them. ie. unplug the white plug and see when you turn it on reds that it is registering power. IF it is, then its the pump. If not, trace it back to the blue wire with black stripe to see if its getting power at the main huge plug under the back seat. If still not then trace it back to the white plugs under the dash behind the glovebox. If you still dont get a reading there on reds it'll be the ECU or engine control relay (gold box behind the ashtray).

It has a microtec ecu so I hope it isn't that ...can I use just a power testing light thing? I don't have a multi meter thing

I don't have a multi meter thing ...if it is the pump how the he'll do you undo that bolt on top of the inspection plate? I just tried and it doesn't seem to want to come loose it just bends on the metal pipe : (

Yes you can use the test light. Remove the inspection plate under the back seat and test the wires on the white plug on the fuel pump cradle. You dont need to remove the cradle. If you're running a Microtech its probably running its own loom, fuse and relay blocks coming off the ECU. I'd say one of those fuses or relays is shot (unless its using the factory MPI/Engine Control Relay)

Ok so I checked it out today no power to the plug on the cradle so it has to Be the mpi relay ....so now I pulled the head unit out and found it I think ..it's the gold box on the left side with a brown bit where the clear/grey plug is plugged in ....looks like it's been rewired to the microtch
