This should probably be a sticky in the misc tech section, but I used this KBS Fuel Tank repair kit http://4gtuner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8129&highlight=kbs and it worked brilliantly. Vintage car owners use the same stuff to acid wash the inside, coat it, primer it and then seal it like new again  I used the KBS kit for the inside of my fuel tank after it had rust in it from sitting in the garage for over 7 years. I did exactly as the instructions said from start to finish and in the end I had what looked like a brand new and shiny metallic silver fuel tank . I even painted the inside of the Mrs car roof turret with this stuff  You need a 2nd person to help you swirl the liquids around during each step so have someone handy on a nice sunny day you're going to do it. Oh, and the best thing was that I didnt need to buy another fuel tank
