Galant HJ ECU Wiring Diagram

Help Support 4GTuner:

this one? thats the Tacho signal pin 31 which is meant to be colour white on the diagram but there is no white wire on that plug as you can see so thats where i put it. same spot just different colour

oh there is only one ecu that other one from before was just a module for an automatic transmission because i two galants but im trying it on my donor car first and its auto before i install it to my main galant which is manual incase i stuff something up it wont matter :)

No your looking at it wrong, read the wires by lookin at the wiring side

Doesn't matter anyway coz that plug hasn't got enough wiring on it

Only thing you can do is trace the wring from the crank angle sensor and from the tacho feed

You should be able to find them on the distributer

so you reckon to just trace the crank angle sensor from the distributor? what about the tacho? would that be in the instrument cluster?

alright cheers ill look into it tomorrow morning. i hope i wouldnt have to much trouble finding it ahah. so white wire for rpm signal from the distributor but what colour for the crank sensor wire?

Crank would be 1 of the black wires lol

No one actually does this stuff to these cars, so its hard to get diagrams or any info

yeah i know aye ahah it would be a good sleeper. just so hard to find infos and stuff. good thing parts from like ev0 3 would fit cs theyre both 4g63 its just its sohc thats the only bit i dont like :(

Your trying to find the crankshaft position sensor wire, it should be 1 of the wires from the dist cap, or am i thinking od camshaft position sensor, either way there should be wires on the dist cap

I used to have a V6 HJ Galant so im not familiar with the 4cyl, i'll check my old 1.8 lancer when i get home and see if i can find wiring colours

I would say that white wire and trace back 1 of the other wires to the wire below, see if its on the same circuit with a multimeter "beep" setting

you think the rpm signal is there too? cs i tried to cut some wires from that small plug but the rpm signal from the tacho didnt work. also theres barely any wires there and there is no wire on the plug where the rmp signal is supposed to be.

Ill try the white wire tomorrow for the crank sensor. it looks like its the pin 69 aye? i hope its the one

Ive found wiring diagrams for the acutal galant HJ and finally im gonna be able to wire it ahahha
thanks for all your help mate

i got the beeR to work it would cut but the wierd thing is that it would cut on every rpm but if i press on the gas i can go up more even though it still cuts it. its pretty weird do you think its getting the wrong rpm signal? cs i got them from the distributor instead of the ecu.

What is a Bee*R limiter ? The ecu tacco wire is pretty fussy about being shared around.
I have 2x 1000 ohm resistors running in parrallel together as a tacco feed for my auto shiftbox tacco signal.
It was reading double the rpm & all over the place before adding the resistors. Reads correct rpm now.
Same happens if you try to run a monster tacco from the ecu tacco wire.
Cheers
would you please explain to me how would i go about this. im not familiar with this stuff ? the tacho wire i got is from the distributor cs i dont have a wiring diagram for the ecu so im using the one in the engine bay :)

Put this in your white tacco wire from the ecu going to your item that needs a true tacco pulse feed

You can thank Vince Ragolli for this tip that he gave me
Cheers

thanks ill try it and see if it changes the type of signal the wire gives. cs right now when its connected the rev limiter it limits on the whole rpm range not just on the rpm that i set it to. so hopefully the problem is its not throwing accurate signals

What do you mean the whole rev limit?? does it stop on 1000rpm, 2000rpm, 3000rpm, 4000rpm, 5000rpm etc etc??

I don't understand
