Just installed a 50mm boost gauge in my dash. I was agonising about how to illuminate it, but I trial-fit that dash last night and it lights up as good as the stock gauges! Awesome.

Anyway, the problem is that it isn't the standard light, so the needle is close to invisible. Of course repainting it is the answer, but what can I repaint it with to give it the same/better luminosity as the speedo, etc? I searched google already but it's pretty useless.. cheers!

So you've done this before? Surely the nailpolish is a solid colour and doesn't allow the needle to light up? Certainly interested as it would be cheap :D

Having looked at it more though, I think the issue is that the gauge doesn't have the same setup as the stock gauges, ie, no clear part that glows and attracts the light. I reckon I may have to just put an LED right behind it.
