What would people recommend. I've got an evo3 viscous gearbox and a viscous rear LSD
Thanks in advance
Brad

Gearbox - CASTROL VMX-M 75W/85 (SAE 75W/85, API GL4)
Transfer Case - CASTROL LSX 90 (SAE 90, API GL5)
Rear Diff - CASTROL SAF-XA (SAE 75W/140, API GL6)

^ those fluids are fine for a stock setup.
If you are running higher power levels this is what I use
Gearbox: Castrol syntrans
Transfer: Redline heavy shockproof
Diff: Redline heavy shockproof.

Or learn how to rebuild boxes once it makes decent torque
VMX is the stock recommended oil and doesn't have anywhere near the shear strength of the ones I've listed. Of course I'm also making quite a bit more than 500 atw so it might be fine with lower hp numbers.
I just know that I toasted a couple of boxes on VMX and haven't broken a thing on syntrans.
But hey, anyone can use whatever they like as long as it works for them.

yep, syntrans is good (for viscous or open diffs)
I run a 90/140 synthetic in the transfer
and a straight 90 in the rear diff

Vr4: (dogbox)
Transmission: Redline 75-140 high performance gear oil
Transfer: Redline heavy weight
Rear diff: Redline heavy weight

Amg:
Transmission: Motul ff LSD

Past oils that I used without any issues:
Transmission: Amsoil 75-140 severe gear
Transmission: Diaqueen
Rear diff: Redline lightweight

What the US builders say.
