Hi guys,

Swapped my gearbox over on the weekend with one apparently in better condition. However now the gearbox won't take any load. you can idle around in gear on the flat but load up the box with a small hill and the box grinds/slpis or you hear wizzing sound (best way to describe it) I'm positive its not the clutch as when you slip the clutch you can move a little but when it is fully engaged the box will slip. The box had been recently rebuilt and i can get my money back on the box but could it be something simpler like a VCU or something.

any thoughts

David

i don't think its the bearings as the its not only a noise there is some slipping happening, i now think it might be the centre diff that is stuffed seems to make some sense to me.

and yes i can get a refund.

getting my old box rebuilt thru Jeff at Techsport this week and will get the my money back on the other gearbox, shouldn't be a problem as they said if i had any trouble i could get my money back.

if a driveshaft was broken you wouldn't you still get drive through the other wheels? when it was slipping the car would not move at all it would roll backwards even.
