Getting parts from Malaysia

Hello All,
Just wondering if anybody knows what the go is with getting parts for the 4g93 and just the CC lancers in general from Malaysia
As I have seen they have LOADS of parts for our motors and cars.

I may have some contacts over there in Singapore who do some IT work for my work, so can probably get them shipped etc through them but would have to see.

I noticed a few group buy threads on evocoupe but obviously its not happening too often and they only seem to get certain parts

SO..If anybody can enlighten me on the ways and means of getting parts EX Malaysia without being ripped off by a shonky shop etc that would be handy

I tried searching but came up with nothing.

If there is any parts that you need all you need to do is let us know and we'll pass it on to our contact who will look around for the best price

Also it all depends on how big the item is, coz the main price issue is for the shipping

just would have been handy to know if we can get bits privately ie the big bits

but at the moment I would be keen on
adjustable strut tops,
clear cam belt cover
some sort of shiney(polished alloy or stainless) metal spark plug cover(for 93t)

but right now I'm broke as

The prob is, that most places in Malaysia wont accept Paypal.
There's a few sites, but none i've found that will accept payment via Paypal :thumbsdown:

The spark plug cover and clear timin belt cover are easy to get, as for adjustable strut tops i wouldnt have a clue, u can always getaftermarket tops for evo as they are all the same

also if its got an insurance value of $1000 or more you'll get charged duty so just put it down lower to avoid it if the sender doesnt mind,

That shop has a load of parts for the CC lancers and 4g93t's etc
but yeah they don't take paypal

I'm not a member of those forums, could you please ask him if he can source some J-spec foldy mirrors complete with the wiring and control module for an e39a?

I've seen them on ebay but shipping is like getting your skin taken off with a cheese grater.

Na Michael you're thinking of my contact in NZ has PAYPAL, my contact in Malaysia uses Western Union. I havent had time to organise a group buy in evocoupe.net for a while, plus most parts to be brought over fit in boxes, not anything as large as a front bar or bonnet etc (the costs are astronomical in shipping).

If you do a search in this forum about 'importing' and maybe look for the word 'tariff', one of my posts explains how much I was charged to bring just a front bar into Australia by ship plus all the extra costs to get it out of Australian Customs!!! To cut a long story short, bought front bar for $150AU. By the time I got it in my hands it cost me $1350AU all up! Even tohugh it was less than $1000AU through Customs, there was fumigation and agent charges as well. That was by ship. By plane it would have cost $900AU just for freight. We live and learn.

The group buy in small items up to the size of headlight boxes have gone through without dramas and are no problem once organised. I get a list of parts the boys require, get the funds from the boys, transfer to my contact's Western Union account, he goes shopping and then sends it to me via DHL transport, all tracked and traced every step of the way. He makes about $200AU out of it for his troubles which is nothing to us, but works out to be close to a week's wages over there. (we helped him pay for some of his education expenses so he was all too happy to assist).
