Yeah, as the title suggests got reversed into at a car park =( I was halfway crossing a speedbump and the guy in the car bay (not looking of course because he was arguing with his girlfriend) reversed straight into my front left fender and door =(

Of course his car is unscathed. Anyway he's accepted liability (he was kinda stuck I didn't move the car to let him leave and I went around getting witnesses, details, his details everything). So it's an insurance job.

Where I'm up to now is the way I see it I've got two massive problems, sourcing another genuine evo front guard and for the panel beaters to actually match that paint. I don't have the code for it (came with the car when I bought her) and as far as I can tell that looks like a pretty unique paint job. Another secondary problem is finding a good repair shop that won't just treat it like a kitted lancer.

If anyone has some recommendations on some good body work and/or painters in Perth I"ll take her there for a quote. At the moment the list is Unique Auto Refinishers in Maddington and Lombardi Brothers in Bentley.

if you go to your local ralliart dealer , you can still buy evo 1/2/3 guards brand new

also most panel shops now have a special camera to take pictures of the paint and it gets the match for you ( if you see a dupont paint sign on the front its more likely to have it )

that sucks your lucky you witnessed it though otherwise they more than likely would have done a runner. if you can get a flake off the old guard im pretty sure a sprayer can match it but apart from that i cant help as i only know one sprayer that does jap cars but i cant remember the street as its been a while since i've been there.

As you're going through insurance - just get a brand new guard from Ralliart as Trav suggested and push for a new door too! Paint wise - stress to them that the match has to be perfect, otherwise the job can extend to the whole car!!

That's a good point I guess I'll just really talk to them and stress to them about the panels and the paint. I didn't know about that camera thing I was going to go with a paint scraping to get a match but I'll try all these ideas thanks everyone.

down under panel and paint, also in maddington. they do insurance work too. they have done an kangaroo repair on my WRX, and replaced front rad support as well.
also racked the front of the mrs outback for a good price and car drove perfect after. they replaced inner guard on that one and rad support as well. the bumper was gold mettalic and they matched it real good.
also they repaired the old boarders car and got the whole rear door replaced as they found it was damaged too.
the colour matcher is a chick and she has a real good eye for colour matching.

They generally do! The majority of the colour and trim design staff at work who pick out all the colours and fabrics to be used on the car are females.

Mention you will be keeping the car for a long time into the future to both the insurance company and repairer. As they usually carry a lieftime guarantee lasting only the time you possess it, they might be inclined to do a better job.

And you have the exact same rims my white vr4 has :lol: have you seen it around?

Id be pretty picky with the insurance work as its a neat car!

i cop that to someone reversing and hit my front bumper on my rvr ( daylight ) and he wanted to pay me 50 bucks for my damage, and i said NOO way its gonna cost you more than that, took his details everyhting tried to call him never picked up and it was diverted etc... and so my bro saw him a week after told him to pay up which cost $1000 for respray resand on front bumper, new guard and resrpay door kos its jammed ... he said why so much,"?? bros like give it to your insurance then....

speaking of dogs my sister's bloody dog scratched the bloody doors jumping on the windows....my poor fkn car can't even protect it in my own garage

So yeah months later and RAC only really started moving the ball in the last week...

Now the pricks want to 'assess' it themselves...assholes

On top of that Rear left tyre got a puncture and turns out the sidewall was damaged...looks like someone either beaded it onto the rim wrong and tore a chunk out (most likely since it was on the inside of the tyre) or the person who took off the tyre to repair the puncture messed it up or that because it deflated on my way to work this morning it got damaged then. Fresh tyres too =(

tell them they have to come to you...RAC that is. don't fall for the taking it to their centre and having them make you wait on their turf.

when the arse...ssor looks at the car, remind him that the parts are not off the shelf at any wrecker and that is why they will be expensive. Dont forget his job as a loss adjuster is to reduce their costs.

Yeah that's what I thought. It's actually going to be a meeting on a 'mutual ground' I guess you could say? It's at the body shop in Maddington (Unique Auto Refinishers). Guy who quoted me knew that the car didn't have your standard lancer panels so I guess that's why they sent the arsehole over because the quote was probably $3000 or something =\ I'm gonna be there when he's there I was going to get them to call me when he gets there so I can be there to address that crap
