LOL yerp secretttttt :smt115

I had 4AGZE pistons in my motor i built that made 230kw and ran 12.1 @ 116mph ;)

however the rods i cant disclose! hehehehhehehe they arent mazda ones!

Jon

I got my money on Honda B16A rods

factory they are needles too.. and they make the pistons stick out of the block (too tall)

;)

Jon

Ok how about 323 GT-R rods?

no bingo!

Jon

GT-X rods? Or the BFMR 1600 rods?

That's not a silly question... because with the Mazda rods you actually do still use the 4G93T rod bearings :p Here's another question, did you have to mill the block deck a little  :p I know of one way to do it but I'm just trying to think of what rods you are using. If I look up rod lengths and specs I might find out... ummm.. does your car run like the v-tec just kicked in yoooooo!?

CA18DET rods are another option.

The GZE pistons are NOT a bolt in upgrade, they need to be modified substantially and many places will refuse to do it.

In my B6T rod build i'm using ACL Race bearings made for a 4G93T

I actually found a company that sells all original rods for 323. I'm ordering BPD rods for $160 shipped brand new. I think that's a gread deal. Even a sale person confirmed all the specs and that they are forged. I think it's a pretty good deal.

Now which pistons to use? I have my 4g94 ROSS pistons (81.5mm) that I would like to use, but are stock 4g93 pistons and 4g94 pistons same height?

Is there any other cheap alternative. I cannot find any mr2 pistons

Just remember, the BPD rods have a 20mm pin and will require the pistons to match. The block also requries modification otherwise the tops of the rod bolts will contact it and destroy your engine.

Again, not a "bolt in" upgrade.

read: get a die grinder and make a divet for clearance????? Or is it more complex than that, I am quite keen to kno this.

What is involved here? What has to be done to make em fit? I was thinking about these pistons with some Ebay rods as a cheap route for my build. I will prolly just keep saving for the ones you got for sale tho!

I'm not worried about clearence of a block. Block will be bored out anyway.

Ok, here is a stupid question. Since I have my ROSS pistons on my stock 4g94 rods, would that mean that they have 19mm pin? If that's the case, can the piston can be customized for 20mm pin?

I'm sworn to secrecy on this. All I can say is that mine involved some custom CNC machining by my engine builders brother. Most places will actually refuse to modify pistons in the way these require.
