has anyone ever run their stock tdo4 to 25psi and never had any issues with fuel cut, boost cut or pinging running timing at 14deg with 600x300x76 cooler spark gaps 0.75mm ? lol because i ran my car at that setting on 4th gear and it felt like 2nd gear power... b.t.w my clutch didnt even slip and stopped slipping a year ago... i presume its heavyduty. :p

What in gods name are you running a td04 on 25psi for?

It's -way- out of its efficiency range and just pushing hot air through. No wonder it's not making any power.

Also, what plugs are you using? Heat range?

damn crazy~
i don't even run 25psi on my td05.. you got a stock ecu? be lucky a rod didn't pop out

I thought that the TD04 turbo would run outer puff after 18-20psi

unless its a hiflow, I have seen a high flow TD04 on 25psi, car ran a 12.6@106mph

Probably a T04 not TD04 hahahaha :p You're one crazy dude especially if it was stock internal GSR. My suggestion sell the TD04 and go big 16G on 24psi and see what happens

lol i was trying to solve my boost controller issues... i always had it set to 14psi then suddenly 25psi!!! omg. I pulled it off then gave it a wd40 within the nozzles then it opened back up sort of... i'm using a type II turbosmart bleed valve. i gave my car a single thrash of 3rd and an hour ago i hit 15psi then dropped to 13 then 14 then 13 then 14psi. ( i also ran the hose straight from the turbo to wastegate acutator and does open at 9.5psi then stable at 10psi,im glad its not the w.actuator or wastegate :) ) If this helps i guess i have to dissasemble the BCV to asses the problem deeply. Hope it helps.
btw its a tdo4 not to4, i had great torque buildup 3000rpm upwards to 6500 rpm then lost puff. Yes i've checked the compresor map for tdo4-13g it begins to get out of its efficiency after 15psi (from 0-14psi its has an 77.5% efficiency peak). ive got iridium heat range 6 & ive heard to drop a range of 1 every 4psi i increase.

Boost is cool
I ran mine at 20PSi....No puff after 3rd gear
And
No Rod out the block......those were the days

Here is the compressor map - you can see that its peak efficiency range is up to 14psi - but its still fairly good up to about 16psi

25psi - is hardly even shown on the map.... Let alone what its doing to your engine - i would have thought that it would be pinging its little ring off with intake temps that high...

td04-13g-cfm.gif

BTW - this is for a TDO4-13G (i thought GSR's had the 13B comp wheel - so it would be less efficient again)

i agree with you then entaran going for a 7 range is better cos the boost im trying to achieve a flat 14psi not a fluctuating 14 lol.. base.t 14degrees. Ive also pulled the plugs out and have checked them their fine > no fouling, cracking, just dry carbon buildup. gsrwrc > the compressor map i have is for the 13g Mits GT3000 TTurbo map, prob 13b could be for the GSR. :? jett > all i heard was 3000rpm whizzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz 6500rpm, and not a 3000rpm whizzzzzzzzzztickticktickthumpboom!!! ~~~~~~~ 0 rpm.

if anyone else has experienced stable 25psi from a tdo4 and havent blown their 4G up post me a line. inc. if any had dramas, pinging, rattling, ticking..

here u go...

engine bay mods
turbosmart II bcv 14psi
std tdo4-13b/g?)
600x300x76 BP-IC (cusco alloy piping)
2.5" down pipe back straight exhaust, no res, h-flow cat
std ecu, std pump, std inj (370cc)
dual catchcans
8.8mm leads
ngk-iridium
minus aircon & acc.

b.t.w anyone own a turbosmart II.BCV IF so then had any dramas? And over boosting experiences? 20+psi. Now im running a very short vacuum line out of turbo nozzle to w.actautor and gonna give it a 14psi shot & see if i achieve a stable 14psi 3rd gear punch. If so i'll have a BBQ & iF not its back to labour.

hey trav

isn't mine you're referring to is it? Mine pulled that time on 'only' 20 psi with a blocked cat.

I'm running a garret t25 and i cant even hold 15pound, may have something to do with stock cooler, swapping it for an evo 1 cooler and plumbing on the weekend.
