Mate just bought a new GTI Polo...bloody hell they move...
The VR4 was winding up to reel it in...cant beat the top end of the 16g though. 8)

Any one driven one...great cars...it sat level with a V8 converted VN commodore..and its stock on 6 pound!!..haha

my girlfriend works for vw and i looked at one as a daily,

top end was a little disapointing but low end was awesome ,it picked up boost at really low revs, great for low speed second gear corners around town. awesome build quailty too. i wanted the 17" option wheels but they were $4700 extra :(

Your not wrong there...the early boost is brilliant.

Bloody expensive extras..thats euros for you..
 
I was lucky enough to drive my neighbours GTI after the grand prix ( as he had been in a corporate box all day and was well pissed!) and was very impressed... $60k including leather, roof and xennon lights, you would want to be impressed. I got a drive so i could offer a b4 and after comparison, as he is looking to get a induction and reflash done... Awesome build quality though. For my money i would go the Evo any day!!! go the mighty 4G!
 
My mate is fitting the APR flash done to the ECU on the polo.
2K and you go from 113kw to 160kw and you can turn it on and off with a buton on the centre console..!

im pretty sure it actually uses the factory cruise control switch to swap the maps so that its ultra secret. soooo cool

He said something about the cruise control..he also said something about a button on the dash which at the moment is blank and will be the swap over button...you can upload flash updates every time theyre re witten as well..

The bastards gonna put VR4 on the button so he can turn it on to beat me..it already gets away from me in 1st and sometimes 2nd when im on 9 pound.roll cage and wheels dont help though. :( but are worth keeping :D

fair bit of options. but it comes with a price :)


i sold my golf for 2 reasons. i missed a turbo car and for investment purposes.

i really would have kept it if i could.

He reckons he goes from 113 kw to 160kw @ motor that is..good investment for the money...
Thats the old gen 4 golf motor cramemd into a polo isnt it?

Its gonna stomp with the flash..its deceptively fast.
 
u would need exhaust & boost etc to support that big of a power jump

but yes old golf gti gen 4 motor 1.8t
