Hey People,

i wont be running a AFM/MAS/MAF anymore, so i need to plumb my map sensor in after the throttle body. now im not entirely sure on the best way to go about it with atdding new "fittings" to the intake manifold.

currently i have the "P" fitting on the throttle body going to the the fuel tank vapour scavager thing :)

then i have three fittings on the manifold going to... in order from cylinder 4 - 1...

BOV,

The cyclone vacum canister,

The FPR which is "Tee'd" into my boost gauge AND electronic boost controller.

here is a picture just so you get the picture :p

now i have the opportunity to clean this mess of lines up, but i also need to add a line for the map sensor... this is where i am sort of stumped.

where have you guys added it to?

Cheers,
Craig.

actually, just intersecting the lower left of the marked "BOV" red circle, is where the PCV valve used to live before i blocked it off.

i wouldnt want to use that as a map sensor point though, as it doesnt appear to be in the proper place.

gah!

Tap in your own where you see fit its needed I wouldn't be drilling and tapping it without removing the plenum though for fear of shavings going walk about in your engine.

Craig my map is tee'd off the fpr, boostgauge vacuum source. Seems to work fine. As liberoz said, i wouldnt be drilling a hole.

id be inclined to give the map its own source...

best bet is looking at relocate your bov to the pcv source to free the map up...

its looking that way,

P - Vapour Scavage
PCV - BOV
BOV - Map
Cyclone - Cyclone (i could actually add something here i reckon, Possibly Boost Gauge)
FPR - FPR, Boost Gauge and MS-IBC

I would take the inlet manifold off and drill and tap a few fittings...
I think i have about 6 or 7, so nothing is tee'd in :)

Thank you
Jason

i was too stoopid to think about that before i bolted the intake back on, so now i have to work with what i got.

damn it :(

You havent put up a pic of the MAP sensor you are going to use but cars that have a factory MAP sensor have it inside the manifold, like bolted in, I'll assume that since your's is an aftermarket add on and from what you have said that fits into a Vac line. I would suggest you pick the biggest line going into the manifold as that way it is going to get the best reading, afterall it is a major component to making your car run well. I kno on my GSR manifold the line to the BOV is a much bigger size than the one to the fuel pressure regulator.

yup external map sensor.

the manual for the A/M ECU states a 3mm min line to the map, un shared.

lovely :?

yeah absolutly everything that you have that requires a vac source will say 'unshared'...

i have seen people use a block with one vacuum source from the int man. IN with 5 or 6 outlets. this is so each line sees the same pressure. personally i would just tee off one of the others, as long as its as close as possible to the inl. man. so there are as little pressure fluctuations/losses. (ideally you want a separate line but most including myself get by without doing so)

cheers
