saw the clouds moving around mid day...... havent seen that kinda movment in over..... 23 years.... soo moved my car into the garage... was a smart move!..

holy shit! those pics are hardcore.. the storm passed my area (western suburbs) pretty quick..
no damage on our cars.. sorry to hear about everyone's cars..

Have also just noticed the black plastic inserts that run from the a pillar over the doors ad down the rear windscreen are also dinted. So basically thats everything on the car now except the two left doors, including the spoiler.

To anyone that had their car damaged, you have my deepest sympathy.
It happened to my vr4 4 years ago. When you inspect the damage, your heart sinks to the bottom of your gut. Your spend weeks trying not to look at it cause it just depresses you. I think I went for about 4 months without driving my car cause I couldn't bare to look at it.
All I can say is get it fixed as soon as you can, it helps you move on.

I am seriously considering selling it, or fixing and selling it. Im no panel beater but I would guess 3k worth of damage (just on the GSR) and insurance wont cover anything. I tried full comp and they wanted close to 4k insured for 5k... So anyone wanting to repair a once mint gsr feel free to contact me

This sort of weather is a cash cow for Panel Beaters. Almost like those Christmas stores at Christmas time....

I know a good panel beater in Braeside if anybody's around that side of town.

Apparently since the last hail storm we had, insurance companies amended the policies not to cover hail damage. There will be alot of angry people out there after the weekend. Thank goodness it missed us and we did get the hail.. But i really feel for all you guys who have had damage done. sucks, and its not even your fault..

Unsure Enginr. All i know is that a friend of mine, which I am sure is an existing policy may not be covered even though they didnt get any damage last time it happened. So might be worth while confirming.

Insurers have already officially received claims worth $220 million from homes and businesses, but the payout is expected to grow rapidly to be the biggest since the Victorian Bushfires that led to more than $1 billion in claims.

The Insurance Council of Australia has declared the event a "catastrophe" and established a taskforce and insurance hotline (1300 728 228) to handle the massive flow of claims.

Ive heard a lot of assesors are writing off cars instead of repairing them, then giving owners the option of buying them back at a reduced price rather than repairing them. Anyone else heard similar stories?
