alright, my headunit hasnt been lighting up for a while. One day it was fine, next broken. Apparently though on the net i read something about that there is a fuse for the illumination wire or something? This true? Doesn't sound right to me.
The headunit itself seems to be working, the screen works (when light is on it), but yea no backlight.
We pulled it apart at work, it has a EL backlight. Sony do not have any spare parts for it or even a whole new face. We tried apply 100V AC to the EL panel, but it just made a spark (perhaps shorted the terminals). Anyways i might have to fix it by shoving in some blue leds from my good old 8250 nokia, i just want to make sure first that theres no "illumination fuse wire" crap before i start doing some modding.
Perhaps i should ask garys car audio before i start fiddling just quickly?
