Hey all,

So I've come to found that the genius who sold me my current evo 1, managed to crank on a full set of lugs which were the wrong thread pattern and it has nearly destroyed the threading of all the studs on my car.

With that said, I needed to get some rally length studs on anyways, but was wondering if anyone had any recommendations as to brand and where to buy them from. I take it all evo's use the same thread? Also, what lug size is needed? Any recommendations for a lug that will fit the larger rally studs?

Many thanks,

i rang the oz supplier of arp and they will not have those studs available until early october...

i am after some too. might have to get some through rallynuts.

they work out at over $12 each though as a minimum cost

with the nuts they just have to have the same thread pitch as the stud.

one thing to look out for though is the angle on the nut where it
locks onto the wheel. if the angle is different on the nut than the wheel it will only touch a tiny surface and not hold properly

check out my mad diagram below

if the point is the nut and the half moon is the wheel it will only touch a tiny bit

for the ozzy guys after these.

i have a set on the way that cost $184oz delivered on fedex

it will be about a 10 day turn around

and i have 4 spares too

yes the will need to be pressed out of the hubs

its a job best done the same time as wheel bearings.

i have stuffed up on my car on the rear hubs anyway and will
have to probably redo the rears as i accidently
left the abs sensor rings on which i dont want....

bit of a waste of rear bearings really.so when i do them i will fit the rears.

^^^

For the record, the front wheel studs can be taken in/out without a press (though some argue it can hurt the bearings, but my mechanic said as long as you aren't going at it full force w/ a hammer you have nothing to worry about).

The rears can only be installed by disassembling/replacing the wheel bearing.... which is the reason why I have yet to install the rear studs as of yet.

With that said, does anyone have a spare set of rear wheel bearings? :D
