I know you're all gonna hate me for this, and its probably been covered a million times but what stud pattern do the CC gsr's have? 4x114 or 4x100 or something else??

I made a booboo with my new tyres...

I always wanted to get new rims for my car, but never bothered. I now have a bit of spare cash lying around. sigh...

In a nutshell, I got some good tyres for cheap, but bought the wrong size, just got them fitted, and now they scrape like a biatch on my car.

I've got 17x7's with 215 45's and its rediculous. I don't want to drive my car because I'll damage the tyres.

SO, i'm selling my rims and buying new ones. Anyone want some 17's with new tyres? :p

the 215/45's are probly whats making it scrape
have a search around for the right size (205/40?) mine do the same tho i think mine are 215/35 i just havent gotten round to changing them all yet :/

I was using 215x40's and the car was real low, and it never scraped

i agree i dont think the tyres are to blame here

are the guards rolled? if they are then your problem is either bad guard rolling, or that rear bar bolt sticking out again

because my car is sitting pretty stupidly low on 18*7.5s right now and it never scrapes the tyres... ill check the tyre specs tonight because i dont remember, but i do know they are no way 205

or the offset of the wheels is incorrect

what he said, i got 17x7 enkei tarmacs with 215/45/17 evo front guards slight roll in rear dont seem to have problem? i drove half way from melbourne in a black evo 3 that the rims actually came off and no scrubs that was standard with no rolling on the rear guards?? (prob more to the fact evo's are slightly fatter all round but even on my gsr no probs)

Mrs pink car has 'lows' yellow King springs all round and 17x7" 40 offset wheels + 215/45/17 tyres. The guards arent rolled and there's no scrubbage at all! Actually the front tyres are an American brand called LEXANI from OZZYTYRES and they are really 205/45/17 but the side wall is very square and is actually closer to a 215 width

hmm. I'll try to find the offset of my wheel. Maybe I can get through this another way...I need to get my guards rolled.

Pretty sure it will be your offset, as the wheels I had on my evo 3 reshell were 16x7 with 205/50R16 on them and they scrubbed really bad so I dropped back to the standard 15s. I think it was mostly the bolt that holds the rear bar on. I really need to look into ways to avoid having to have that bolt.
