HELP WITH SETUP PLS

Hi guys just bought my self a Evo 1 and want to know if this set up is ok or if i have to change anything.. Some 1 told me that this set up will choke my turbo.. IS THIS TRUE???? Is it ok if i run the car like this for a few months??

Id have to agree. The 16G turbo should be upped to a 20G IMO B)

a 16g is too small for a 2.3 imo

it will run out of puff very early, nice and responsive though

IMO TD06-20G I run one on my 2.3 and it's a nice set up. You'll find the 16g runs out of puff at about 5000rpm. A set of 272 cams won't go astray either.

If i remember correctly Groove was running a 2.3 with a TD06-20G also..maybe you could ask him how it felt to him

Are you sure it's a big 16g or has it been rebuilt with a 20g wheel?

Just sayin its pretty pointless to stick to the 16g with the 2.3, it might've been changed

Measure up the wheel and have a look

I've got one of those turbo's sitting in my shed. Had it on a built 2L.... lag wasn't too bad, i'd imagine on a 2.3 you'd barely notice it.

Thanks for all the comments guys... it has a GT PUMPS manifold on. What model turbo should i buy.. i have a mate in japan so if i can get a model of a turbo i can start looking for 1.. is it just TDO6 20G turbo?????

Nah it's a td05 20g, it usually has the part number engraved on the front comp housing as the evo 3

Go for one of these, bolt on replacement. Nice and driveable TD06-20G

Personally- i'd piss the 20g idea off and go straight for a GT30 or larger.

I'd also get rid of that Mines chip- they are not tuned for Australian fuel, let alone a stroker motor. ECM link FTW.

Yes i bought jorels car..il anyway be puting in the Haltech plug and play ECU in on friday...still thinking about the turbo.. Travis il give you a buzz tomorow..
