high flowing injectors

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

The main problem that I have seen with the injectors is that they give their rating (ie 850cc) using a higher base fuel pressure than the denso counterparts. This means that an 850cc injector's really something like 760cc - so people are reaching their limit a lot quicker than they expect to.

thats right

they measure their injectors at 43psi base pressure

and because all those injectors are shit over 60psi

you can only run 17psi of boost before they start to go nuts

who the fuck runs 43psi base pressure on a vr4?

Most tunes are running eitehr 39 or 40. I'm running 41 and that's "high".

That gives nearly 20psi of boost in usual applications which is PLENTY because most cars are only running 18.

BennyGee has Delphi/rochestors in his car, when they were flowed and cleaned the spray pattern only became decent with 40psi or more, so at cruise with less than base pressure due to the vacuum in the intake, the spray pattern is less than optimal.

standard base fuel pressure in a vr4 is 37.5psi isn't it?

so that gives you 22.5psi until they supposedly go to shit?

does this mean that until you hit boost, you will still have 37.5psi of fuel pressure meaning that the spray pattern will be crappy and won't get half decent until you hit 2.5psi or more?

When you are cruising, due to the vacuum in the plenum, you are running less than base pressure, and yes, it isn't till you hit about 2psi of boost, that the injectors finally start to get decent atomisation.

In saying that though, Ben has just driven from Brisbane to Ayres Rock, to Melbourne and got fairly decent economy as well.
