my mate thinks my sequential bov has had it.he was in another persons car with the same type bov and said that it sounded nothing like mine.
can i fix my bov?

you can ger different inserts in the end for different sound. (silver, gold, purple)
also the older ones have a tension ajustment on the back. if one is tighter or looser than the other it could sound different also.

I'm not sure from an engineering perspective it's possible to actually break an SSQV. They pull rather than push against a spring so unless something there broke (which I find VERY hard to believe considering there's basically zero strain on any component) I think it's just a matter of valve tension.

As said before, get a different coloured insert.

ok so it wont break. ive got the purple insert with it adjusted all the way out. i think it sounds ok but he thinks it sound shit to whats hes heard.
so is the purple one shit?

Yes its possible to have an SSQV fuck out on you. The diaphram and/or spring carks it.

All GENUINE SSQV's are adjustible, so if its not making the correct sound and its adjusted properly, then its most probably poked.

Actually 99% sure the new genuine ones arnt. i remember reading it somwhere, and i know someone who got a new one and it didnt.

mine has the adjustment and it also had the purple insert (silver is standard)
the purple ones sound slighly different and will anly make the high pitch wistle type sound at higher boost, where the silver ones do it even at lover boost.

That looks like its adjustible to me??

I've had all 3 fins, and they're just different sounds.

can i fix it?

It depends on whats wrong with it.

I could sell you mine. :) Mine is for Evo VII - IX and comes with the upper intercooler arm. I used it for a few months. Been lying around in my garage for long time.
