i've talked with a few people on here about my intercooler.. basically, i have a hole in it.. a part down the bottom has been pushed in and its open.. when i release my throttle i can feel the air escape the hole so i know its there!..

now, i've heard that i should be having boost problems, but that's not the case for me? i took it for a drive a couple of days ago and reached 21psi quite fine.. i didn't feel any lack of performance so i don't know what's going on.. maybe it's not a hole? i'm sure it is tho.. i'll get pics up tomorrow if that helps..

i just had a thought.. would this hole have an effect on my bov? as i had bov problems.. i never actually got to see my cooler till i took off my front bar so there could be a slight chance it was damaged before hand?..

I have a relitivly big hole in the IC on my galant and i didnt even notice it untill i pulled it down to swap the motor/setup over to another car.

It didnt seem to effect performance. it no doubt did, but i never noticed.

If you want to know just spray carbi /throttle cleaner where the hole is if the car starts to splutter or change revs! it's a hole if it doesn't it's possibility not big enf to worry about. BUT you know it will get worse.

check your pipes for an oil film in them .. another sign you might have a leak. Or you need a better catch can! :D

JetGSR

but try the throttle cleaner!!!

That's normal with th oil in your pipes, just your crankcase gases getting vented back into your inlet.:)
What ECU are you running, i take it that your car isn't stalling or running like crap? if you still are running a AFM then you'll have stalling issues ect..
But you wont notice a hole if your running a MAP Sensor.

i'm running piggy back systems..
apexi safc, vafc and an itc.. i dont' have a map sensor either.. i think im beginning to think that hole was already there before i bought it..

If allowed to build up too much, the oil film on the pipes will effect the coolers cooling efficiency.

I like to clean the pipes and cooler once a year, OR fit a catch can

i'm thinkin about fitting a catch can.. but i have no idea where to place it.. theres no room anyway!.. would i need to move the battery?
