How Much Boost?

Hey all, with injectors,pump,regulator, and 800cc injectors on the way im just wondering how much boost vr4 internals can hanlde? does anyone know. im on holidays and about to send her into the shop just wondering what to expect? thanks in advance again guys.

I've run up to 27psi with 110 unleaded, but every motor is different!


If the AFR's are right, I cant see why you couldnt run 20psi- but make sure you get them checked otherwise you might end up needing a rebuild!

a lot of people seem to have trouble running over 20psi with 98 octane fuel

i was just after a rough idea, yea mazfix will be tining her next week. they know microtech so what the hell lol. ill probably have a dyno diagnostics done first so they can tll me if theres going to be any problems along the way i can fix before i pay for a tune, might be my best idea

Its not about how well the tuner knows the ECU, its how well they know the kind of engine they're trying to tune.

A "dyno diagnostic"- do you have to pay for that?

freshly rebuilt Td05 16 (highflowed) yes dyno diagnostics cost about 120 bucks getting it done so i can have a second opinion on my infamouse valve floating and a red lights flashing on my microtech, i can manualy turn up the boost to 17psi at the moment but i get alot of flames
