I was following a method that my mechanic mate (of 30+ years and countless gearbox rebuilds/installations experience) told me to use after we'd installed my new gearbox and needed to bleed up the clutch system.
I am certainly open to the possibility that there are different "horses for courses" (see what I did there!! ) for how the same thing can be done differently, but I went with the method as suggested by somebody I trust and has a proven history behind him.
At the end of the day you either need to research and make up your own mind on what method seems best to you, or go with and trust the experience of somebody who has done it before with success.
