How to blow your bottom end and do it properly

4GTuner

Help Support 4GTuner:

It seems to be a bit hit and miss when running that sort of boost.
For example, i've run 18psi through my evo 2 motor on stock tune (save for FPR adjustments as it was running too rich) for around 80,000k's and the only reason I took the motor out is because I hit something on a long drive and broke the sump and didn't notice till I got home 150ks later. Unfortunately whatever I hit also ripped the pressure sensor wire off too LOL. The motor had the ominous big end bearing rattle after that.
Funny thing is, that I managed to drive 150ks of twisty "private" road giving it a bootful with no oil

Maybe you got a bad batch of fuel? Or maybe not enough fuel, did you upgrade the fuel pump?

I feel your pain having lost a 3k's old motor due to a " Dyno guru" who as I found out had the fuel maps with more ups & downs than a pros bottom on paydays at mine sites.
As I have only app 40% hearing I had Buckleys hearing it pinging especially with a helmet on.
