how to identify different model car parts?

Hi ive tryed google with no luck, and i am in need of abit of help.
Would anybody happen to know where and how i could find out some information on car parts for example ive got some parts for another car with part number but no further info and i would like to know what year model etc the individual car part is for, is there a certain place to check online for these things, the parts are proton, but would like to know if they are gti, satria or what year model they etc they would fit....

are they proton genuine parts? maybe give a proton dealer a phone call, tell them you got some spare parts with a car and just want to find out if they fit your car, or are for another car

Yep genuine proton parts, i have a few parts and doubt the dealer would like to sit and go through one by one, but an idea would be to ask them and see if they have any place where i can find the necessary info, in the meantime if anyone has an online link or a specific place i should call let me know..

These parts need more info when i sell them, otherwise they will go cheap, there is stuff like gaurds, side skirts, some suspension parts etc
