Hello, I have been searching for a hsg RVR for sometime but missed this one (below) before some photoshop.

TBOWGN suggested putting a thread up on here as you guys are the most likely to have knowledge of them coming up for sale.

I have seen doommachine's but im after WHITE...

White
Manual
Turbo
Newish shocks & engine or reduced price ready for transplant.

If you have anything on the cars or were the person that bought & REPAIRED this example and willing to on-sell again, please contact 4th (at) ii (dot) net

ps. how much would a full respray cost approximately?

thanks again

Whats your budget??

the above went for 5000$ with a damaged rear bar, 16" wheels with camber wear, compressed rear springs and shot rear shocks, rusted bonnet, this is still cheap for a hsg RVR

There are five white manual HSGR's on carsales.

2 of them are auto, one of which can be found on youtube

dealer @ 246km is really tired example in person apart from the clutch
dealer @ 100km has sat virtually idle for over a year and the gear synchros dont feel right, the guy who bought the black one with gold rims took it back with gearbox issue also

private @ 130km good but overpriced, partly due to a "3000$ soundstage" but even removing that still a little high in comparison to the below

http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=544023

im still waiting to hear back about the old boost listing as the user is on holidays despite the age of the thread it is still listed as current vehicle

understandably the RVR is a unique vehicle being low volume import & im still kicking myself i didnt buy the one pictured on the spot despite the damage, not to be.

motorman imports might be able to find something for you, they have a couple for $10,000 drive away with 70,000km on the clock, pretty good price from a dealer IMO,

even if you got a ****** body condition one for 5000 with a tiredish motor you'd be lucky to get a (good) complete respray for less than $5000 unless you know someone.

unless your desparate just keep looking, best value one i ever saw for sale was $10,000 with 50,000kms on the clock clean paint and sound system, private sale, missed that one by a month dammit!

i saw a white HSG on a carryall today near suncorp stadium qld number plate JDU with white enkei's felt like trying to get the truckie to pull over and see if he would take offers

For 30K I'll get you a 2.2L stroked RVR with an enormous turbo and the potential to run 35PSI with E85...

Just saying! ;)

sounds like the black one with pinstripes and bronze wheels that sat on carsales for about a year with the "yellow top" and everything shiny & custom, looks amazing but you would have to be keener than the pope up a nun for that money

..

how much would you expect a respray to cost? at least doorjam job, engine bay wouldnt be too bad if it was black

I think $30k is a frickin bargin for that car.

If you seen it and heard all the sweet noises it makes, you would love it.

Brendan, you have NO idea. You should hear it now. Will (IH8V8S) Just finished on my car today... We're headed out one night soon once I've run the motor in... I think it'll be time to organise a cruise...

which RVR did you keep the one with the nudgebar & hellas?

this RVR is up for sale again, seller states it was sold to him as a HSG and it was a complete lemon having to a lot of work to it including engine swap since, to me it appears SSG based on internal trim & bumper

sorry, but you have posted more images than you are allowed to

well i found it & test drove it today, on the outside it is relatively clean with few paint scratches etc

my points of concern
- amount of oil & grease coming out of everything underneath
- gearbox going into 5th doesn't select gear to shift smoothly/difficult
- rear wheel camber (does not appear lowered)
- bonnet autobot emblem, should be decepticon

nb: dealer has yet to put it through their roadworthy

Jeez, fair call for concern! What's it on for?

That green sportswagon is the one I swapped suspension with!! That was the quick one I was telling you about Matt. Different engine in it now... brand new from a Talon.

both asking ~9k

green one said new motor & fitting was about ~3k

for the record...

HSG came in 3 colours and never had roof racks.

Black
White
Green over Dark Grey

SSG / SG had about 9 variations, one of which I can't recall. All have rails / roof racks

Black over Dark Grey
Cyan over Grey
Light Blue over Grey (I may be thinking of the Cyan here)
Navy Blue over Grey
Green over Grey
Green over Dark Grey
Red over Grey
Maroon Over Dark Grey

So beware if anyone tries to sell a different coloured HSG as it's highly unlikely to be a HSG. That said there are a few give aways to look for, the interior being one of them.

is the 5th gear in these gearboxes always fiddly to get in?

feels like it is almost next to 3rd without going across, see above
