So tomorrow I will receive my new studs, so obviously I have to get the old ones out and put the new ones in...
I've only ever had older cars, so the hub and rotor are one assembly, and they simply come off by taking off the "nut that holds the wheel on".
The back looks easy enough, it looks like there will be enough space behind the hub to get the old ones out... but even if not it looks like the rear hub is pretty easy to get out.
The front looks like an absolute pain in the arse though, has anyone replaced studs, or even replaced brake rotors to tell me if I'm going to have to remove and disassemble the whole hub assembly to get them out? It looks that way from the FSM, I just hope that I'm wrong
Another question, is it possible to remove the front hub without taking the entire knuckle out? The FSM shows the use of a special tool to remove it while the knuckle is out of the car, is it possible to slide hammer it out without damaging it, and then use the axle nut to press it back in?
