Help Support 4GTuner:

If its holding capacity you want without sacrificing driveability then I suggest you PM Dino about the clucth he had in PASHN8. alittle bit harsher on the wallet, but more worthwile (and easier on the left leg) in the long-term.

yeah, like those jim berry clutches right?

i'd rather get something off the shelf for cheaper at the moment

but i definitley dont want a button clutch

tharaka, the best organic clutch off the shelf would probably be the EXEDY SPORTS ORGANIC

it goes

stock

HD organic
sports organic

then it jumps to ceramic
5 puck
3puck

go sports of u dont want ceramic
but i'd go 5puck myself for a mild car

from what i've been told, organic clutches start to slip more as they heat up more... that's what made me turn away from them.
there's a lot of good reading on the exedy website about pro's and con's about different clutches.

but your vr4 isnt a daily is it?
you have the magna for your daily driver right?

i think i posted it earlier...
it's a great clutch, except for driving at low speeds, stop start, peak-hour, car parks... that type of thing.
it does grab quite suddenly and does shudder a bit.
my car is a daily... i drive it to and from work every day.
maybe not the most ideal clutch for that kinda thing, but i'd rather deal with a bit of harshness rather than getting frustrated by a slipping clutch at the track.

i got a 5 puck ceramic on my car.. barely shudders.. if your in the north west suburbs you can test it out see if you like the feel..

ive driven mattys car too, and was quite surprised at how easy the car was to drive. I was expecting it to be a BITCH compared to mine now (I have the sports organic), BUT the pedal feel is very very similar. The only difference is the force and speed at which it bites.

But I liked it enough, and it is what will be running in mine when it gets back from the workshop.

i think i definitley have to try it out

my impression was that with a button clutch it'd be hard to launch as well because theres not much room to slip the clutch..?

also, when i drove barrys car with his 3 puk ceramic i stalled it everytime i tried to drive forward, but then again, i had no idea it was a button clutch

there not that bad i guess.. when i first bought the car off manny and drove it home.. i stalled it three times  but after that you get use to them and i think they are excellent at launching :D

if i go for a 5 puck
would that be better for daily driving compared to a 3 puck?
or would they both be the same?

i'd think the 5puck would be more streetable..
just depends how much power you got and what you want your car to do.. street? drag? track?

all 3, its a daily driver, but i do track stuff, and the occasional drag
im not a fan of straight line racing, but i do launch my car a LOT so this is why i dont want to just rush into buying an organic and killing it in a few months

Dont be a pussy. 3 puks are soo easy to drive and park and reverse etc.. i do mine in an everyday basis.. maybe im use to driving pucks? ive had about 4 puck clutches and i have no issues parking them..

I killed the 3 puk excedy in my car... did about 30 x 12 sec passes and then it died in the asses.. Ive gone a custom 4 puck which i have used before and know that it will hold around 240AWKW (did that in my vr4)

I've got that 4puck clutch. I'm on my third transfer case. Not recommended for vr4's. The clutch is still perfect though.

the vr4 looks pretty angry from side on
