Hi guy's,
I couldn't help myself with the title..
Ok, I'm a little embarrassed to post this, but I need a new muffler, a big fat bling fart cannon type, I'm too spoilt for choice and need some help..

I have a couple of questions and options..

Option a) HKS, Apexi, Wantanabe = cost around $300+ Does that amount of money really justify the result? Or is it just wank value for having a name brand?

Option b) Cheap evilbay special = $60 made in taiwan "quality" Are they a matter of you get what you pay for?

Option c) For the sake of convienience just stick with what I previously had (3ARacing) which are available at the exhaust shop which I'm going to get it put on by.

Option d) other

cheers,
Dave

hahaha your not the first to mention that..
But I don't think it would suit the car, and I prefer the straight cut tips. I wouldn't mind going the burnt tip look for extra rice. ;)

I've had a quick look on ebay only to find some really weird designs.

heres some advice. DONT BUY ITEMS FROM EBAY, UNLESS.
A- they are from a real person not some dodgy guy buying 100's of parts from chine for $2.55 incl GST.
B- if someone has got something GENUINE and has no need for it
C- IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT IS.

just b very carefull, especially when it comes to car parts.

whats the point in speeding $250 for ebay items then finding out that it going to cost another $200 for fix the problem the ebay item has caused and now buying the part you should hav in the first place for $500.
so instead of spending $500 so get the real deal, you have spent $950 coz u wanted 2 save money and time.

most of all what happens if the part can cause and car crash and kills you 2 of your mates and a mother and her 12yr old son.

all to save $450 and have the car off the road for a week less.

Deep breathes mate.

I've got a "drift" one from Autobarn which set me back about $100.
It's stainless steel with 3 inch inlet and 4.5 inch outlet.
Sounds good and is reasonable quiet with an extra resonator between the cat and rear muffler.

ROFLMAO @ the relax its a muffler and deep breathe comments..

olly ur exhaust is pretty quiet.. what is it..??

lol my exhaust is quiet? i don't think you've heard it properly....

i got a 3" all the way

Geez, maybe I shouldn't have a muffler at all, I'll remove the cat too, just in case.....
What sort of problems do you think a cheap muffler will cause?

It's tempting to get a 2nd hand HKS Super dragger which is on ebay at the moment, but I think it would be too big for my little car.. I came across an ebay seller from NZ that sell decent quality mufflers in different styles, the name is www.powerproexhaust.com On their site they have video/sound of a V6 VR4 with one of their muffler's on. What do you guy's think? sounds pretty nice to me.

Here's a couple of old filmclips of what mine sounded like..

Just thought I would make a late comment here. This my ebay bargin, $20 and I think it sounds awsome. I have a complete custom 2.25 exhaust and it all works well together. check it out.

One week after posting this, We recieved a range of "hypertech" cannon exhausts through my work. Not as good as your $20 bargain, but at least it brand new and I got a nifty discount on it.
It's stainless with a 3" inlet and a 4" titanium burnt tip for added bling. 8)

Thanks for the replies.
