idle but no accel

yesterday.. strange problem, turn car on fine, idle fine, press accelerator shutsdown... this morning not start what so ever, ranted raved went got other car come back, tryed for good measure and it kicked over???
could a sensor be out of some sort??? thought even thermostat but mmm im lost..
mind of its on at the moment...
is this heat wave doing something to them as well???

Could be TPS (throttle position sensor) related.

sounds like a intercooler pipe leaking , or air flow meter (try plug and unplug it)

Had you done anything to the car prior to starting it?

yeah changed oil on weekend but tis all, before that at techsport getting gearbox redone and service,(nearly 3 weeks /month ago) ive pulled leads repluged etc etc turned off all timers imobilisers, i no im not smartest with cars but hey its confusing me and a few others.. even gone through fuel pumps etc there seems to be no leaking from pipes anywhere from what i can tell, none have cracks or look even shabby, hence a sensor theory..

ok now i pulled wires pipings etc.. cleaned right up again.. ran for about 10 min up down street, left it for 30 min come back now engine light starts and wont start again, grrrrrr

I would check your AFM. Most mistub's will idle with a broken AFM (badly), but as soon as you touch the throttle the computer stuffs so much fuel in it just floods and stalls. exhaust stink like fuel everytime it stalls? if so, probably afm.

If it's throwing CEL's, it has error codes so get a scantool off your mechanic and go see what it says
