Just changed the clutch slave master and once i had put everything back together and went to start the car it is idling at about 2k, i had disconnected the battery but i was told it shouldnt reset my ECM settings?
is it my ecm or something else? I put everything back and checked it twice. Need the car first thing in the morning but i dont want to drive it when its not running as per usual.
cheers

by the way usual idle is about 8-900rpm

I just did a quick search and found this.

Seems like you are not the only other person in the world that has the a question relating the ecu reset.

I know it resets but nothing like that has happened before usually it'll run crappy for abit then it'll be fine. thanks for the help mate.

Mine kept doing that, one day it would idle at around 750-800 then after drive for a bit kept idling at 2k. Then it would magically fix itself. Then a week later I'd start it and its revving at 2k. Turned out throttle cable was catching. I put my foot under throttle pedal and pulled it back and revs dropped. Your problem is probably different but I thought I'd throw that out there.

I lubed up pedal pivot and throttle cable. Hope that was the right thing to do. Seems to have fixed it.

sorry to hijack but my car seems to be doing the same thing. was running fine and then all of a sudden it started to idle at 1500-2000. sometimes it goes back to 900-1000 but it mainly sits at 1500-2000. on cold start its at 1000. i reset base idle to make sure it was all ok but the car still idles all over the joint.
